Yellow or brown water with a bitter taste usually points to tannins. Tannins are organic compounds that leach into groundwater from decaying leaves, bark, and soil. A standard carbon filter won't remove them. This system uses Eaglesorb tannin resin in a self-backwashing tank to pull tannins out of your water supply before they reach your taps.

  • 3-stage treatment: sediment pre-filter, tannin resin tank, carbon block post-filter
  • Microprocessor-controlled backwash valve regenerates automatically, using approximately 40 gallons per cycle
  • 1.5 cu ft tank: 9-11 GPM flow rate, 1 million gallon capacity, 10"x54" tank
  • 2.0 cu ft tank: 10-13 GPM flow rate, 1.5 million gallon capacity, 12"x52" tank
  • Softener add-on handles hardness up to 40 grains per gallon
  • Stainless steel tank option available; note that pinholes can develop in humid or coastal salt-air environments
  • Iron and manganese must both be below 0.2 ppm before water enters this filter. Iron coats the resin and permanently reduces its effectiveness. Pre-treat iron if your levels are higher.
